Liège hosts MIGreenDEAL international multiplier event to engage young migrants in climate action

On 15 January 2025, the international multiplier event of the MIGreenDEAL project was held in Liège (Belgium). It brought together partners, national experts, trainees and local stakeholders to present the results and discuss their long-term impact of the project. The event served as a platform to highlight the importance of climate and environmental change awareness among young migrant transformative learners.

The event featured a varied programme, including presentation of the main results of MIGreenDEAL, testimonials from young people who participated in the programme, and insightful interventions from national experts and migrant entrepreneurs who shared good practices. A panel discussion on exploitation and sustainability strategies was also held, with the aim of integrating the project’s results into educational, community-based initiatives and to ensure lasting impact.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the MIGreenDEAL tools, which allowed participants to explore the training programme, the personal application and the online course. The session provided valuable information on the effectiveness of these resources in assisting young migrants in developing sustainable and environmental awareness.

The event concluded with an evaluation session where participants reflected on lessons on how to maximise the reach of the project. A networking session fostered collaboration between stakeholders, reinforcing MIGreenDEAL’s role in promoting social inclusion through environmental education. The event reinforced the commitment to ensure that MIGreenDEAL’s tools and methodologies continue to inspire and help young migrants to actively contribute to a greener future.
